December Service: Bike Walk Savannah

Our December Service Project will be supporting Bike Walk Savannah, our ASP this year.  For the 7th year in a row, Bike Walk Savannah is hosting their Holiday Bike Drive for Kids! Bikes are donated by the community to then be fixed up and given to children who need them. Bike Walk Savannah's new Standard Cycles Program works with Blessings in a Book Bag to identify the children getting the bikes.

We will be helping the bike drive in several ways:

1. Collecting and donating bikes: Gently used youth bikes can be dropped off at Green Truck Pub on Sunday, December 6 from 12-4 p.m. (grab some lunch while you're at it!). Please note that they can handle a little dust, but please no rust. Email info@bikewalksavannah.org with any questions about your bike's condition. Ask your friends and neighbors with kids and bring as many bikes as you can! You do not need to sign up - we will keep track of the bike donations for service credits. 
2. Work day at BWS HQ to repair and prepare bikes for donation to the kids on Saturday, December 12 from 9am-1pm (two shifts available).  Sign up to register yourself for this service day.  

A third opportunity to help distraibute the bikes may be available, but details are pending. More info to come if this happens.
