Some of the causes that will be supported by funds raised through Roastary are:

Read United: Read United is a year-round series of programs that aim to improve early language and childhood literacy. Reading proficiency and literacy is vital to the success of our community. Children with reading difficulties are more likely to experience health and behavioral problems, teen pregnancy, premature departures from school, trouble sustaining employment, and even poverty.  Through Read United, we seek to increase opportunities for achievement and brighter futures for all by ensuring that children reach important language milestones.

Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP): Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. The students become adopted members of a Georgia “host family,” living on-campus at the school they attend. This is an ambassadorial scholarship program, not an exchange! Each year, students from all over the world make friends in the United States and other nations and learn about differing cultures and lifestyles. Georgia Rotarians believe “Peace is Possible” and through GRSP promote international goodwill through friendship and understanding.

Preston Johnson Speech Contest:  Initiated in 1997 by Dublin Rotarian and Past District Governor, Preston Johnson, the annual District high school speech contest is a special project engaging Rotarians, educators, and students. The competition is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity for the development of future leaders.
