Earth Day Savannah is an annual event that celebrates environmental sustainability and conservation efforts in our community. Individuals, organizations, and businesses come together to protect the planet and promote eco-friendly practices.

Activities include educational and interactive events, live music, workshops, and demonstrations on topics such as composting, recycling, and renewable energy. The event will host a wide range of vendors offering eco-friendly products and services. By bringing together the Savannah community, Earth Day Savannah aims to raise awareness and inspire action towards a more sustainable future.

Metro will provide support with set up and check in at the event. There are 2 shifts -- 11am-1pm and 1pm-3pm.  The actual Earth Day Savannah event will begin at 4pm.

Sonali is an international student from Sri Lanka currently pursuing studies at Georgia Southern University as part of the Georgia Rotary Student program. She is sponsored by several Rotary clubs in the Savannah area including the Rotary club of Metropolitan savannah. Her interest in economics was inspired by the economic crisis in her home country, motivating her to explore market behavior and financial systems. Outside the classroom, she enjoys discovering the charm of Savannah and embracing the experience of studying abroad.

Sonali and Aaron will be cooking authentic Sri Lankan cuisine for us, so be sure to register to partake in this unique (and tasty!) special lunch! 

Join us for Metro Monday at Emmaus House!

Our recurring monthly service project to assist with the soup kitchen at Emmaus House every 2nd Monday of each month.  This service project is for adult volunteers. Minors 13 and up can volunteer accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Metro Rotary will be supporting TEDxSavannah before, during, and/or after the event on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Georgia Southern University's Armstrong Campus. 

VOLUNTEER SERVICE AREAS

• Pre-Event Set-Up (Thursday, May 14): Assist with stage and event area decor installation and registration area set-up (i.e., organize lanyards, etc.) 
• Ushers/Greeters (Friday, May 15): Welcome guests to the event, provide wayfinding from the parking lot to the event space and badge pick-up areas and escort guests to available seats or VIP/reserved seating for sponsors
• Customer Service (Friday, May 15): Check-in guests, provide them with lanyard credentials and explain how to access the digital program
• Food/Merchandise (Friday, May 15): Sell TEDxSavannah-branded items and assist with food distribution during break and lunch, including clean-up
• Event Tear-Down (Friday, May 15, beginning at 5 PM): Load equipment, remove decor and signage and clean all event areas

All volunteers must attend an in-person orientation session at the Armstrong Campus of GSU on Wednesday, April 16th at 6pm or Saturday, April 26th at 2pm.

Get ready for a joyful celebration supporting Forsyth Farmers’ Market and the programs that nourish Savannah all year long. From the savory aroma of delicious casual bites from Savannah’s favorite eateries, to interactive kids’ activities, to live music by local favorites, this event is packed with fun for all ages.

Metro will provide volunteer support for the event. Multiple shifts are available and activities include set up, directing traffic/parking, serving, and break down.  Volunteers should be 18+, and volunteering will include free food, beer and music!

This year, we're striking up a good time for:

"The Big Lebow-Legacy Project Bowl-a-thon" 

Before you start thinking about the pulled hamstring or strained your wrist from your last time at the big league bowling lane, fear not, our night will be at Savannah's newest and greatest duckpin bowling place. Yeah, yeah, we know you don't want to resest your own pins either, so this place ALSO resets your pins and keeps score like the big league place. 

So, get out your best flannel and shorts and join us for a fun evening raising money for Metro's Legacy Project. "The Big Lebowski" is our theme. You are welcome to dress accordingly, Dude.

On May 11th, they will be $85 until May 20th.

Tickets are $100 at the door. 

Ahoy mateys! Join us for some "Boatary" fun on Captain Derek's Dolphin Adventure! Bring your friends and family - this boat can fit up to 52 people! Please register and pay for your tickets no later than May 17th. 

The group pricing for adults, teenagers (13-17), and children (12 and under) is as follows:

• Adults: $21.50 + 7% sales tax + $2 gratuity = $25.01
• Teens: $17.50 + 7% sales tax + $2 gratuity = $20.73
• Children (12 & Under): $13.50 + 7% sales tax + $2 gratuity = $16.45

NOTE: If you’d like to book a teenager or child, please add a note in your registration and Venmo @Jasmine-mills-1223 to secure the ticket. It’s beyond Club Runner’s capacity to have two prices!
