Building Opportunity & Impact Across Coastal Georgia
Our club recently welcomed Moncello Stewart, President & CEO of the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce, who shared the chamber’s vision for empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening economic opportunity across the region.
Since becoming President in 2018, Moncello has helped grow GSBCC into the fastest-growing African American Chamber on the East Coast and the longest-running chapter in Savannah. Serving Chatham, Bryan, and Effingham counties, the chamber focuses on business training, development, advocacy, strategic networking, and public policy support for its 200+ members annually.
Moncello highlighted the chamber’s role in addressing barriers facing Black-owned businesses, including disparities in business valuation and access to resources. Through initiatives like the Georgia Coalition for Black Businesses, GSBCC has helped secure millions in grant funding and development support for small businesses throughout the state.
He also shared exciting updates about the chamber’s growing partnership with the City of Port Wentworth, including new downtown development plans and tourism marketing initiatives under the tagline “Choose Port Wentworth.”
Beyond networking, GSBCC continues to create meaningful impact through signature events like EmpowHer, the Black Business Expo, and the upcoming Black Excellence Gala on November 6, 2026.
