Incredibly charming and super-famous local author, Harrison Scott Key, will join readers for a discussion and Q&A about his first book, The World's Largest Man, winner of the Thurber Prize for American Humor, the world's largest prize for a funny book and also the world's only prize for a funny book.  The best part?  You don't even have to have read the book to enjoy the discussion!

Join us via zoom for a front row seat with Harrison Scott Key.  Readers can ask Harrison anything! And he will probably lie! Harrison will speak about storytelling, writing about the South, the challenges of writing about family members who own many guns, and why people in book clubs drink too much. Proceeds go to Bike Walk Savannah.

With registration for this event, you will be automatically entered into this event’s raffle which includes a book signed by Harrison Scott Key, wine, everything you need for a great cheeseboard and more!  Winners of the event raffle will be drawn at the event.  You will also automatically be entered into the Finale Raffle!  If you want more chances to win the Finale Raffle, you can purchase tickets through our website. More information on the raffles will be posted on the Metropolitan Savannah Rotary facebook page. (unfortunately, we are unable to ship anything other than the signed book to out of town attendees)  **For anyone in Savannah who registers for the event by Friday 11/13, you will be entered for a chance to win a bottle of wine delivered to your door in advance of the book club to enjoy while listening to Harrison Scott Key!**

BIO: Harrison Scott Key is the author of two books, Congratulations, Who Are You Again? (Harper Perennial), a true story about how his modest professional ambitions nearly destroyed him and those he loves most, and The World's Largest Man, a true story about what it's like to be related to insane people from Mississippi, which won the Thurber Prize for American Humor. His recent TEDx talk went viral among a certain demographic.

Harrison's humor and nonfiction have appeared in The Best American Travel WritingOxford AmericanOutsideThe New York TimesThe Bitter SouthernerMcSweeney's Internet TendencyTown & CountryThe MockingbirdSalonSavannah MagazineReader's DigestImageSouthern LivingGulf Coast, and Creative Nonfiction, as well as a number of magazines that don't pay you anything at all, not even a little, but it was cool, because people who work at magazines are mostly poor, and helping the poor is a priority for Harrison, should he come under scrutiny.

He holds an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction and a Ph.D. in playwriting and has worked at SCAD for quite literally thousands of years, where he’s held appointments as chair of liberal arts, professor of English, professor of writing, and executive dean. He lives in Savannah, Georgia, with three children and just the one wife.

After you register you will recieve an email containing the Zoom meeting infomation. (you will immediately recieve emails for payment and registration confirmation, the Zoom link will come separately)

Many Thanks to Thomas & Hutton, ForSight Unique Eye Care & Eye Wear and Author Harrison Scott Key for supporting this event!
